From cultivation to atelier: ethical production and high-end finishing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Transparent chain: from plant to sculptural silhouette<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bamboo\u2019s advantages extend beyond the wearer to benefit the planet as well. The bamboo used in the This Is No Disco clothing line is grown in China, where our partner is certified for sustainable farming practices. They use a closed-loop system, where the water used in bamboo processing is purified and reused. The bamboo is turned into viscose using the same closed-loop system, ensuring minimal environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Understanding the reasons behind this production process is crucial. The cultivation and production of viscose largely take place in Asia due to the lack of local facilities in Europe. Although my supplier, Bamboo Belgium<\/strong><\/a>, is experimenting with local bamboo cultivation, the production of viscose closer to home remains a challenge. Transporting bamboo to China for processing and then shipping the final product back to Portugal for further production would be inefficient and impractical.In Portugal, the threads are spun and crafted into garments in small, ethical workshops where workers are treated fairly and paid decent wages. Under the oversight of Bamboo Belgium, environmental damage is kept to a minimum, contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this collaboration with Bamboo Belgium, This Is No Disco<\/em> is able not only to give shape to artistic freedom, but also to contribute to a textile future where people and nature take centre stage.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
